Eren Erdal Aksoy
Horizon Europe Project ROADVIEW: Robust Automated Driving in Extreme Weather: Overview and Early Results

In this talk, I will introduce our new EU-funded Horizon Europe Innovation Action project ROADVIEW. The project aims to develop robust and cost-efficient in-vehicle perception and decision-making systems capable of working under extreme weather conditions, such as fog, rain, and snow. After a brief overview of the project, I will share our early results related to cleaning snowy LiDAR point clouds, boosting LiDAR-only object detection, sensor fusion for slipperiness detection, and closing the sim2real gap for sensor noise modeling.

Sara Svensson
EU project leadership and participation: a comparison across funding types and type

In this talk, I will share my experience of leading the local Halmstad University teams in the Horizon projects B-SHAPES and Intercambio. I will do so while also reflecting on contrasting experiences with being involved in projects and project applications other types of EU funding, and how this has changed over time based on my experience of involvement in EU research projects since 2004.

The seminar is part of a series and are organized approximately three to four times per semester. The seminars will inspire and create a place where researchers can meet to talk and make contacts.
