Erasmus Intensive Basic Swedish Course – Integration weeks

Course for international exchange students from August to September.

For a period of about five weeks, in connection with your other courses, you have the opportunity, by taking this this course, to learn the basic skills of the Swedish language. Furthermore, you will get to know your new city, i.e. Halmstad, and its people, as well as a new society, country, and culture.

The course is intended for those who study within the European Union's Erasmus programme. Students who are not admitted to the course 'Swedish as a foreign language I' have priority.

The course has no tuition fee and gives no credits.

Lessons are scheduled to be held between 10 and 4 p.m. and occasionally between 3 and 6 p.m. Lessons are scheduled to match the Student Unions activities for new students, as well as the start of the regular classes.

The structure of the course was great. We learned new things about the Swedish language and culture at each class. What we learned was easy to apply on to every day life.

Students admitted to the course will receive an e-mail with practical and more specific information in June.

It is amazing that we’ve learned basic Swedish this good in such a short period of time! But it is really as fun and important to me that I got to know new good friends, and that we had such great excursions and activities together within the course. We really got to know Halmstad and other places nearby.

I'll definitely remember the city trip and the bike trip to the beach, but my favourite part is that I'm finally able to communicate a little bit with Swedes now. I would really love to take a continuing course so I could practice some more!

We learned very much in a short period of time. I really appreciate it!

The small classes were perfect, because we got to talk Swedish a lot.
