Master's Programme (60 credits) in Renewable Energy Systems, 60 credits



Today it is a major challenge to develop our energy systems into sustainable systems with renewable energy sources.

Project works and study visits to industry were included. The courses include parts of advanced modern methods, such as computer based simulation methods suitable for working with the development and use of new technologies for renewable energy, but it is also as a start for further graduate studies in the energy sector. Energy is by nature a cross-border scientific field and there are links to our university’s other educational and research fields such as environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and business.

The programme prepares for interesting advanced work, such as design and construction in energy companies and public administration. It also gives an introduction to further studies and research.

Calculation of electromagnetic fields (compulsory), 7.5 credits
Electrical distribution systems (compulsory), 7.5 credits
Renewable energy (compulsory), 7.5 credits
Exergy (compulsory), 7.5 credits
Advanced course in district heating (compulsory), 7.5 credits
Scientific methods in natural sciences (compulsory), 7.5 credits
Master thesis (compulsory), 15 credits

Entry requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Energy or equivalent.

Applicants must have written and verbal command of the English language equivalent to English course 6 (Swedish Upper-Secondary School). This can be proved by grades from English education or by such tests as:
• IELTS: score (Academic) of 6.5 or more (with none of the sections scoring less than 5.5)
• TOEFL paper based: score of 4.5 in written test and a total score of 575
• TOEFL internet-based: score of 20 in written test and a total score of 90

Degrees
Master of Science (60 credits) with a major in Energy Engineering.

Specific eligibility requirements
Bachelor of Science with a major in Energy Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Energy Engineering.

Applicants must also have written and verbal command of the English language equivalent to English 6 / English course B (Swedish Upper-Secondary School). This can be proved by grades from English education or by such tests as:
  • IELTS: score (Academic) of 6.5 or more (with none of the sections scoring less than 5.5)
