Management

The University is managed by the University Governing Board and the Vice-Chancellor.

The responsibilities of the Board are defined by the Higher Education Actexternal link and the Higher Education Ordinanceexternal link.

The Vice-Chancellor is responsible for the daily management of business under the auspices of the Board. The Pro Vice-Chancellor is the Vice-Chancellor’s deputy. There is alsp a Deputy Vice-Chancellor with a special responsibility for innovation, collaboration and internationalisation. The University Administrative Support is headed by the University Director.

Teaching and research at Halmstad University are organised in four Schools.

In addition to the University board, there is an overarching collegial body – the Research and Education Board. The Research and Education Board is responsible for research as well as for education at first, second and third cycle. The Board is responsible for ensuring a clear connection between research and education, and for overall long-term strategic priorities concerning research and education, as decided by the University Board of Governors/Vice-Chancellor.
