Erasmus and other exchange programmes
The most common, and easiest, way for international students to get admitted to studies at Halmstad University is if your home university has a bilateral student exchange programme, such as Erasmus, with Halmstad University; contact your home university´s International Office for guidance.Online Application
Halmstad University only accepts applications made online. Applications are sent in online, at the latest, April 15th 2012 for studies during autumn 2012. Please note that Halmstad University must receive the all documents concerning the application at the latest 2 weeks after the online application deadline! Once Halmstad University has received the printed and signed application it will be registered and forwarded to the School in question where the application will be processed. Each School will send out the admission letter to those students who fulfill the entry requirements.Entry requirements
The entry requirements for each course/programme is always clearly stated in the prospectus / course description. Please read the requirements carefully.Language proficiency
If you want to take your courses in Swedish you must provide information about your knowledge in the Swedish language. Your can do so either by providing grades from Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent: svenska kurs B or svenska som andra språk kurs B with a passing grade (Godkänd). Or by taking the Swedish proficiency test, TISUS
, (Test i Svenska för Universitetstudier), with a satisfying result.Accommodation
Once the student has been admitted to Halmstad University the Student Union will send out information regarding accommodation. It is very important that the students apply for accommodation since it is almost impossible for incoming students to find accommodation on their own. It is essential that the application deadlines are kept in order for the Student Union
to find accommodation to all incoming exchange students!
