How to apply?


To be a free mover student means that you apply to the University, via www.studera.nuexternal link, under almost the same conditions as Swedish students.

How will I receive my letter of admission?


Print your letter of admission from your personal account with STUDERA.NUexternal link.
You will NOT receive any other admission letter from the university, printing it from that website is your only option. The authenticity of the letter will be verified online, by the Swedish Migration Board.
We can not provide you with any signed or stamped admission letters.

How many credits do I need to be eligible for a residence permit?


You need to be admitted to full time studies, which equals 30 credits/semester.
If you are admitted to part time courses, make sure that the total number of courses will cover 100% of one semester and come to a total of 30 credits.

What is the duration of my course/program?

What is the cost of living in Sweden?


The support requirement as stated by the Swedish Migration Board is at present at least SEK 7,300 per month.

Can I find a job in Halmstad?


It is very difficult to find a job here if you don't speak Swedish, so please don't count on being able to support yourself with odd jobs. You have to organize the finances before you come here.

Do I need Health Insurance?


All students (except EU/EEA citizens) admitted to programs or courses of 60 credits or less will need to purchase a health insurance. This can be purchased in your home country or via an international insurance agency.
Please make sure that the insurance you purchase fulfill the requirements given by the Migration Board.
