Nollningen - the Fresher's week
The Nollning, or Fresher's week, is the introduction time at the end of August, just before school starts. It is ten days full of fun activities that aim to let the students make new friends and to introduce the students to their new lives as students in Sweden.
Nollningen is a Swedish tradition for new students before they start their studies at the University. It is not mandatory but it is a great opportunity for you to participate in a Swedish tradition, to meet new friends and to get to know your new classmates, the University and the city of Halmstad. There will be many activities for you to participate in, all voluntary and we are sure you will have a great time during these ten days!Nollningen is arranged by the Student union, Kåren
and every program has its own stab which normally consists of a general, a sergeant and a straffmästare. The Student Union have been working very hard for several months to make Nollningen a fun and memorable event.
You can recognise all the stabs and the programs, by the different colours of the overalls. The colour of the overall tells you what program the person is studying. You can also recognise the exchange students by the purple flag with an alien on it.
