Have fun in Halmstad

In Halmstad nothing is too far away and there is always something happening!

Activities

You can push the throttle to the limit in a go-cart either indoors at Slottsmöllanexternal link or outdoors by Östra Strandens Go-kartbana,external link or make sure you keep an eye on your opponents during a game in the Laserdomeexternal link. If you are up to some really tricky challenges, visit Arosfortet in Halmstadexternal link, it's almost like "Fort Boyard".

Visit Halmstad Adventure Land with no less than ten theme parks in the same place and eat at Wild West Steakhouseexternal link. Absolutely the best view over Halmstad is from the look-out tower, located on Galgberget in Halmstad.

Najaden

The training ship Najaden, moored up against the Castle, is perhaps what is most associated with Halmstad. It is a small-scale, full-rigged ship from 1897. During the summer there are guided tours where visitors gain an interesting insight into our seafaring history.

Halmstad Arena

Visit the newly inaugurated Halmstad Arena for sporting events, conferences, concerts and much more. The main hall holds up to 4,500 spectators.

Beach life

The beach at Tylösand is located 8 km east of Halmstad, and is one of the most famous beaches in Sweden. Östra Stranden is located 5 km from the city centre, only 2 km from the University, and is the locals' first choice when going to the beach.

As an alternative to a dip in the sea, you can visit Sannarpsbadet at Halmstad Arena, a water park with water chutes, bubble pools and swimming pools.

Restaurants and cafées

There is no reason to go hungry in Halmstad with its many local specialities. You’ll find the most popular restaurants in the town centre along the pedestrianised streets and parades and in Tylösand. More information about restaurants, bars and nightclubs in Halmstadexternal link.
