Individual Study Plan - ISP

Each doctoral student has an individual study plan (ISP) PDF

(pdf, 170 kB) with a time scheduled for the thesis. The ISP follows a template and includes information about courses, publications, supervision and goal achievement.

The main supervisor is responsible for drawing up an initial ISP no later than three months after the doctoral student's date of admission and that the ISP is sent to the Director of Doctoral Studies who presents the individual syllabus to the managing committee that suggests it to be decided by the faculty.

The Director is responsible for ensuring that studies are followed up each year, that the ISP is reviewed annually and revised as necessary. The Director and the doctoral student's main supervisor shall take part in the study follow-up.

The ISP is a kind of contract between the doctoral student, the main supervisor and Halmstad University. In case of problems concerning supervision or goal achievement, it is this document that is used by the university to make adequate decisions.
