Re-exam, Skill Exam and Final Exam


The re-exams will be in the examination week, week 15. Dates and time for the registration will be published on the course web page later.

The skill exam is a practical test that will cover both CCNA 3 and CCNA 4. The skill exam will be done on real lab equipment, and there will be some short written questions as well.

Course information


The prerequisites for this course is Computer Networks I.
The course consists of lectures, laborations and exercises. To pass the course, the students has to attend to, and complete all the laborations, pass the on-line (Final) exams, and pass the Skill exam. Teaching is in English. You will find more information about the teaching formats in the syllabus.

Course parts


Skill Exam, 3.5 credits, grades not passed, 3, 4 and 5.

Final exam 1, 2 credits, grades not passed and passed.

Final exam 2, 2 credits, grades not passed and passed.

Skill Exam: is a practical test that covers all parts of the laborations. The student need to solve some problems on real equipment, and the exam is done individual.

The attendance to all laborations is mandatory, and the student need to be able to answer questions and show each laboration for the lab assistant. To qualify for the Skills exam, the student need to attend to all laborations. If one laboration is missing the student can hand in an extra assignment, if an agreement is done with the course responsible. If more than two laborations are missing, the students need to re-take the course the next time the course runs.

Re-exams for the Skill exam will be offered two times.

Final Exam: is an on-line test with multiple-choice questions. To have access to the Final Exam the student needs to have a valid Cisco Academy Account, and all Module exams must be done before the exam. To pass the exam, at least 50% of the questions need to be answered correctly. The registration to the Final exam is done by attending all laborations and complete the chapter assessments.

Academy certificate


Halmstad University is part of the Cisco Networking Academy. Computer Networks I is covering the first two parts of CCNA, and Cisco certified instructors are teaching the course. There is one Final Exam for each part of CCNA and one Skill Exam, which you need to pass with at least 70% on each. After finishing all parts of the course with a result of 70% or more, you can get a Cisco Academy Certificate.
