Selected subjects will be treated in the form of lectures and article writing. The focus is put on currently important fields, which means that the subjects for article writing will be adapted before the actual course start. Possible subjects to be treated are: Virtual Local Area Networks, TCP details, multimedia communication, traffic models, switch and router architectures, protocols for optical and/or wireless networks, networks in parallel and distributed systems, Internet Quality of Service, admission control, and intervehicular communication.
Each student shall, in group, write a paper (research overview) to get a deeper understanding of a specific subfield.
