This course is cancelled and replaced with the course VOIP and IP-telefony fundamentals, DK4012.


Course information


The course consists of lectures,skills, project  and  laborations.  To pass the course, the students has to attend to, and complete all the laborations and project,  pass the Skills Exam  exam .
Teaching is in English.

This course include two parts :

Fundamentals of Wireless LANs and basics of  IP telephony .

Fundamentals of Wireless LANs will focus on the design, planning, implementation, operation and troubleshooting of wireless networks. It covers a comprehensive overview of technologies, security, and design best practices with particular emphasis on hands-on skills in the following areas:
Wireless LAN setup & troubleshooting
802.11a & 802.11b technologies, products and solutions
Site Surveys
Resilient WLAN design, installation and configuration
WLAN Security - 802.1x, EAP,LEAP , WEP, SSID

IP telephony will focus voice over IP fundamentals, configuring Cisco CallManager, VoIP Signalling and Call Control.

Course parts


The attendance to all laborations is mandatory. Most of the practical exercises will be done in groups, but some of the exercises are individual. The student need to be able to answer questions and show each laboration,  1.5 credits grades not passed,passed.
Skills Exam included theoretical questions WLAN and IPT , 6 credits, grades not passed, 3, 4 and 5.
