MPE-lab

The research within MPE-lab is conducted in the following areas:

Physics of Nanoscale Devices

The research is focused on electrical and optical properties of nanoscale devices. At present three research projects are pursued:

  • self-assembled chemical sensors based on functionalized carbon nanotubes
  • ferromagnetic single electron transistors for future spintronic devices and
  • quantum dot and quantum wire structures for future infrared detectors.

Researchers within the area:

Applied Mathematics

Within this reasearch area analytical and geometrical methods in the investigation of non-linear partial differential equations in Mathematical Physics and Finance are treated. Also Painlevé equations and Projective Differential Geometry, Cartan spaces with projective connection, Theory of Invariants, Lie group analysis of non-linear PDEs, Schottky uniformization of Riemann surfaces, Lax-pairs and inverse scattering problem, Algebro-geometric approach to nonlinear partial differential equations, thetafunctional solutions of KdV-, KP-, sin-Gordon, sin-Laplace equation are considered.
