Publication types

You can choose from the following publication types in DiVA:

Article in a journal - Articles in academic or other journals, including daily newspapers.

Article, book review - Book review in a journal or newspaper.

Article, review/survey - A review of an area of research published in a journal. (Most often in Medicine, Pharmacy, Technology or Science.)

Book - A published monograph.

Chapter in book - Part of a published monograph. Note that editorial work for collected works or anthologies are registered under Collection (editor).

Collection (editor) - A publication where a number of separate works have been published together. Only the editor is registered for this category. Each individual work is registered separately as a Chapter in a book.

Conference paper - A paper presented at a conference and published in the Conference proceedings or other conference documentation.

Conference proceedings (editor) - Your own editorship of conference proceedings.

Doctoral thesis, compilation - A thesis or dissertation presented for the degree of PhD. It consists of published, or about to be published, academic articles that are held together with a comprehensive summary (compilation thesis).

Doctoral thesis, monograph - A thesis or dissertation presented for the degree of PhD. It consists of a single cohesive presentation in book form (monograph thesis).

Licentiate thesis, compilation - Thesis for the licentiate degree. It consists of published, or about to be published, academic articles that are held together with a comprehensive summary.

Licentiate thesis, monograph - Thesis for the licentiate degree. It consists of a single cohesive presentation in book form.

Manuscript (preprint) - An article which has not been published or peer reviewed.

Other - Used when no other publication type is applicable.

Patent - A patent granted by the Swedish or an international patent office.

Report - Publication which forms part of a report series (e.g. Working papers).

Student thesis - Includes degree projects and student essays, carried out independently by an undergraduate student. The level is registered on the form.
