Halmstad University offers a comprehensive range of nationally recognised courses in teacher education for future and current education professionals. We offer undergraduate programmes in pre-school, primary, secondary and further education (post compulsory education).
The undergraduate programmes are characterized by a variety of teaching and examination forms, and they all contain the following: educational science specialist subject studies as well as full integration of teaching practice periods.
We also offer a one-term course in International Teacher Education Studies, 30 credits, for exchange students. The course gives you the opportunity to study the Swedish school system from a theoretical, practical and scientific perspective.
Our research centre, Research on Education and Learning within the School of Teacher Education, has a developing reputation for research into learning and teaching. Our research centre aims to conduct innovative research projects on education and learning and make a significant contribution to knowledge about educational opportunities and outcomes for children, young people and adults from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
We maintain strong links with schools in the Halland region where we are engaged in educational and continuing professional development. This collaboration is organised by The Centre for Regional Development.
