Halmstad's coat-of-arms consists of three crowned hearts. It certainly is a town to fall in love with; in fact, there is even a neighbourhood called Love. The town has a long history and received its charter as early as 1307. The charming town centre has a wide selection of restaurants, night-clubs, pubs and cafes. Halmstad has a rich cultural life and is famous for its sports teams. The population of Halmstad is approximately 90,000 and is located on the west coast of Sweden; a comfortable distance (approx. 150 km) from Malmö, Gothenburg and Växjö.
