Prerequisites and Admission

At Halmstad University it is the Faculty Board who handle applications and admissions of doctoral students, based on a proposal prepared by the research committee at the research environment CIEL.

General Eligibility

General admission to postgraduate level specified in the Higher Education Section 39, Chapter 7, and rendered below in italics:

General admission to doctoral level if they have

  1. a degree at advanced level,
  2. have completed course requirements of at least 240 credits, including 60 credits at second level, or
  3. otherwise within the country or abroad acquired substantially equivalent knowledge. School may grant an individual grant exemption from the general entry requirements, if there are special reasons.

Special Eligibility

To be accepted as a student for postgraduate studies in Innovation Studies, the student degree at advanced level in a field that is relevant to the research subject. the individual examination may result in the requirement of additional training before studies begin. The requirements for prior knowledge as above considered satisfied even by those who in another manner within or outside the country acquired substantially equivalent. Admission to the graduate program is continuous. The basis for the selection of eligible Applicants to the graduate degree of ability to carry out postgraduate education.
