The Lecture Hall Malcus in the Campus building Visionen will be renamed from September 1 to the Lecture Hall Bærtling.
“Our University and the campus are already characterized by Olle Bærtling’s art and in the renovation we are implementing, e.g. in this lecture hall, we found much inspiration in the artist's work, which will be evident in the new hall, says Mats Lyberg, technical and estate manager at Halmstad University.
Halmstad University’s campus is known as ”Kvarteret Bærtling” (The Bærtling Area) after the famous Swedish artist Olle Bærtling (1911–1981), who was born in Halmstad. Bæertling worked in a purely geometric, non-figurative style and created in his paintings triangles, often in black and dissonant color harmonies in dynamic contrast modes. Many of his works can be seen around the Campus, thanks to a partnership with the Bærtling Foundation and Halmstad Municipality.
