During the labs you are going to need your student user name and the password to login in the University computers -- so make sure you have those ready before coming to the lab.
The first thing you need to do, after logging in to the lab machine, of course, is to get your own copy of the virtual machine we will be using during the labs.
In order to avoid any problems, make sure that "D:\VMW\DO2003\" directory on the computer you are working on is empty.
Open Windows Explorer, click "Network", "IDEFS-03", "mawe", "Local" and "DO2003". You will find 12 files there, approximately 1.4GB in size.
Copy those files to "D:\VMW\DO2003\"
If you want to, you can also copy them to your own pendrive/usb memory -- this way you will be able to take the VM home and experiment with it some more.
After copying the files, double click the file "do2003.vmx" (VMware virtual machine configuration). VMware Player should start executing virtual machine. If it asks whether you copied or moved this machine, answer "I copied it". If VMware Player asks about downloading additional tools, answer "Do not download" and/or "Never remind me".
Log in to the GNU/Linux system using user "ide" and password "ide".
After you are done with the labs and you have shown your work to the teacher, don't forget to delete your virtual machine from drive D:
