Here we gather information that can be useful for you in your studies, it's work in progress.
To be able to borrow from Halmstad University Library you need a library card. Anyone over the age of eighteen can apply for a library card. To obtain a library card you also need to show a valid ID document. As a patron it is good to familarize yourself with our loan regulations. You can administer your loans online.
The information desk is manned by library staff Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. Between 4 pm and 7 pm search help can be limited as our student hosts will assist. There are also other ways to get help. A few are listed below:
For technical support use the electronic helpdesk. You can also turn to the Service Center.
Most computers have an internet connection and Microsoft Office installed. You cannot book our computers. You logon with your student account details. We also have a few Mac computers where you can surf as a guest and that don't require logon.
LibGuides (Subject guides – mainly in Swedish)
LibGuides are subjects guides that list information resources, print as well as electronic, within a specific subject. (More guides in English will be added)
Book group rooms
Apart from places for studying on the first and second floor we have 8 group rooms on the third floor. You book these online.
In general the library purchases 2 items of all course books used at Halmstad University. One of which is available for loan and the other, a so-called reference item, must be read inside the library. The loan period is 14 days. Some course books are available as e-books.

Publish student thesis (DiVA)
All published student thesis from 2006 and onwards shall be registrered in fulltext in the University's institutional repository, DiVA.
Work from home
As a student at Halmstad University, you can access our electronic resources (e-publications, e-books, databases etc.) even while off campus via our proxy server.
Wireless connection (WiFi)
Enrolled students at Halmstad University can access the wireless network Eduroam, which you can access all over campus.
Printing & copying
The University has a joint centralized system for printing and copying.
To use it you must first add funds to your student account. You can do that at the library or at Service Center (card payment only). You can log in to see your account balance.
Software for download
Enrolled students can download various pieces of software.Via MSDN Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) you can get Microsoft software, not Office-suite. You also have access to Mathematica and SPSS (in Swedish).
