Undervisar inom Idrottspsykologi
Min undervisning på idrottsrelaterade kurser handlar om frågor som rör idrott- och hälsopsykologi vid tävlings- och motionsidrott. Vidare undervisar jag kring gruppdynamik och dess koppling till främst lagidrotten samt hur man kan tillämpad idrottspsykologiska teorier i praktisk träning. Under de senaste åren har jag också varit forskningsansvarig för forskningsmiljön Centrum för forskning om Välfärd, Hälsa och Idrott (CVHI).


Forskning
De senaste 20 åren har min forskning främst varit inriktad mot att studera psykosociala riskfaktorer i relation till skadeuppkomst samt under rehabiliteringen av långtidsskadade idrottare, men också tillämpad idrottspsykologi och rådgivning.
Utmärkande för min samlade forskning kring psykologiska perspektiv på prevention och rehabilitering av idrottsskada är analyser av olika typer av data baserat på skilda designer. Mest frekvent förekommer kvalitativa studier, fallstudier, tvärsnittstudier, longitudinella och prospektiva studier samt experimentella designer. Samma gäller undersökningspopulationen där såväl tävlingsidrottare, barn och ungdomsidrottare, motionärer, tränare och ledare samt läkare och sjukgymaster ingår. Vidare betonas den bredd av nationella och internationella samarbetspartners som medverkar i de olika studierna (t ex Australien och Portugal).

Övrigt:
Efter flera år som ledare inom idrotten och som praktiskt arbetande idrottspsykologisk rådgivare har intresset för att koppla teori och praktik utvecklats. Denna nyfikenhet har lett till intresset att närmare studera effekter av idrottspsykologisk rådgivning, men också reflektioner kring skillnader och likheter avseende tillämpad idrottspsykologi i olika länder. En gemensam nämnare är att generera teorianknuten empiri i syfte att ge uppslag och riktlinjer för tillämpat idrottspsykologisk arbete för nämnda målgrupper.
