CAISR Health at the Innovation Conference

On 21 October, Halmstad University and Region Halland welcome businesses, innovation-promoting actors, the public sector and researchers to the Innovation Conference 2025! This year’s theme is Bridges for Innovation.

CAISR Health Kick-off

The partners of CAISR Health were invited to a two-day event that focused on reviewing progress, strengthening collaboration, and shaping the next four years of research, innovation, and co-production. The programme featured project updates, partner presentations, workshops, and opportunities to explore future directions together.

Health Economy Seminar 3: Organisational consequences of digitalisation
When: 17 June
Where: Fullriggaren, Halland Hospital
The seminar was led by Torkel Strömsten, Associate Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics, and was co-organised by Region Halland and the implementation seminar series. During the seminar, participants discussed:
- How the public sector and health care are organised
- Digitalisation (or the digital fusion of information systems) and what it means to different professions
- How the new information landscape can influence how organisations within the public sector and health care are organised

Health Economy Seminar 2: Precision medicine and healthcare

The seminar was led by Torkel Strömsten, Associate Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics. During the seminar, participants discussed:
- The background of precision medicine and healthcare
- How the present control systems were often unfit to motivate the benefits of precision medicine
- What needed to be done to reap the benefits from precision medicine

Health Economy Seminar 1: Calculations in the Swedish Health Care system – CPP vs PEC
When: 20 March, 10.30–12.00

The seminar was led by Torkel Strömsten, Associate Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics. During the seminar, participants discussed:
- The differences between Cost Per Patient (CPP, or in Swedish KPP) and Patient Encounter Costing (PEC)
- CPP and the underlying assumptions and instructions in the CPP calculation that made comparisons between regions difficult
- PEC – its origins and how control needed to change in health organisations to make it work as intended
