About LHS
LHS conducts education, research and collaboration in teacher education, humanities and social sciences, both regionally and internationally. The School also offers professional education for those working in primary and secondary schools.
LHS has two departments:
- The Department of Education is responsible for teacher education for pre-school, primary school and secondary school, as well as bridging programmes in pedagogy.
- The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences offers education programmes in the Swedish and English languages, Political Science and Cultural Studies. Courses are available within the disciplines of English, History, Literary Studies, Swedish, Political Science and Technology History.
Management, administrators, teaching staff and researchers are based in Q Building. Most teaching also takes place in the Q Building, however some lectures may be held on other campus sites, in addition to web-based distance teaching.

Collaboration and innovative environments
The School works to develop regional, national and international collaborations within learning, the humanities and society.
Collaborations with preschools, schools and education is organised by the Collaboration for learning and development (SamLär). Teacher training internships and other course-related internships provide an additional vital arena.
The School is home to the Digital Laboratory Centre (DLC), a creative, high-tech laboratory environment with a focus on teaching, culture, communication and creativity.

For exchange possibilities, the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences has agreements with over 70 partner institutions all over the world. Students can also have access to partner institutions to other schools at the University.
