In this course, you study Swedish industrial design and architecture as an expression of visions of the good society, aesthetic ideals and technological development opportunities. You gain knowledge about aesthetic and ideological trends in Sweden. The course gives you insight into ideas about the good living environment, about functionalism and postmodernism and how they can be understood. You develop your ability to investigate, discuss and critically analyze texts, images and examples of design, architecture and community planning in Sweden 1880-2020.
