District Heating Technology
The transition to district heating has been one of the most important steps towards a better environment in our urban areas. District heating is flexible and can utilize a lot of energy that is otherwise lost. Through the transition from fossil to renewable fuels, district heating plays a key role in our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. District heating accounts for about half of the heating of homes and premises in Sweden and has great potential to continue to grow. The course deals with how district and local heating systems are built, operated and supplied and the importance of district heating for long-term sustainable development.
