Exercise Physiology with Laboratory Methods

15 credits

In this course you will learn more about exercise physiological effects in the short and long term (e.g. acclimatization), adaptation to different types of training, training intensities and different environments. The course is also about integrating theory into exercise physiology laboratory and field methods where analysis principles, technical execution, result assessment and quality assurance are important aspects. You will practice conducting tests of aerobic capacity (e.g. submaximal and maximal oxygen uptake tests), anaerobic capacity (e.g. power and strength) and measure muscle activity with electromyography. Laboratory results are then reportedbased on collected data, temporary and systematic sources of error, and plausibility of the results.
