Health and Lifestyle in a Nordic Perspective

7,5 credits

The main focus of this course is cultural diversity in the welfare society from a Nordic perspective with links to local and global conditions and issues that concern health and lifestyles in relation to a social sustainable society.

The starting point is the Nordic welfare model and its conditions to implement social inclusion, in working life as well as leisure time. The course also includes studies of communication patterns for the understanding of its impact on cultural diversity in society, as well as the impact for individual’s health and poor health. The course also offers studies of lifestyle media. Perspectives and theories on social sustainability, multiculturalism, gender, communication, and society’s role for health and welfare are studied from a multi-disciplinary approach.
