Innovation for Sustainable Water Management

General introduction to hydrological principles and their applications in water treatment. Presentations and discussions on water supply; and the legislation – at national and EU levels - which regulate the conservation of the aquatic environment and how water resources can be used. Treatment technology, including nature-based solutions for treatment of effluents, run-off and raw water for drinking water. Discussions on how different technical solutions may improve water quality. Preventive actions and risk-reducing activities from a catchment perspective such as upstream work for reducing chemicals in wastewater. The effects of climate change on water supply and spillages and training in “systems thinking”. Recent, important innovations for sustainable water management are studied.
