Lightweight Design

7,5 credits

Construction of light products is an area that has been increasing in recent years. Weight and resources in terms of materials, but also in the use of the product are important elements of sustainable development. Products that move during their use require some form of energy. For example, in the automotive or aerospace industry, fuel for moving the product and light products uses lower fuel consumption. Product optimization is made to maximize material usage and thereby save resources. An interesting area within lightweight construction is Biomimicry where you learn from nature. The course contains theoretical and practical sections.
