Play, Movement, and Creativity

7,5 credits

Play, Creativity, and Movement (7,5 credits) is a course for those who aim to work as educators on all levels with an interest in play and playfulness. After completing the course you will be able to discuss and understand play and playfulness as distinctive parts of education and life in general. Certain attention is paid to play and playfulness as a way of approaching public space, which is explored as an important ability to develop in the 21st century, both physically and digitally. Throughout the course, movement is explored as a decisive aspect of play. The literature on play and playfulness is presented during lectures, discussed during seminars and examined individually through a digital multiple choice exam (4,5 credits) on campus. The other exam is the planning and execution of a digital production (3 credits) aimed at exploring the playful potential of cityscapes as a way of doing pedagogy on all levels. The digital production is done in collaboration with other students and modeled on insights from workshops with aesthetic, digital and educational content.
