Students satisfied with their education and study time

A recent survey among students who have completed their studies at Halmstad University shows that the majority of students are satisfied with their study time and education and feel that the study environment is inclusive. Nine out of ten would recommend their education to others.

“It is gratifying to see that ten out of eleven index areas in the survey have a satisfaction index above 70 per cent.”

“It is gratifying to see that ten out of eleven index areas in the survey have a satisfaction index above 70 per cent, which is the limit for the assessment ‘on the right track’. The highest marks are given to the areas of inclusion and treatment, gender equality and general satisfaction. It shows that our students to a great extent feel that they are treated respectfully and receive support during their studies”, says Tina Skytt, Operational Controller at the University, and one of those who has worked to conduct the survey.

The survey also shows that a large proportion of students, 86 per cent, would recommend their education to others, which is at the same level as last year.

The results also show some challenges. The index area for the connection of education to working life has a slightly lower satisfaction index compared to other areas. Looking at results per programme, four out of seven programme groups achieve a satisfaction index of less than 60 per cent. The University’s Schools will now analyse what this may be due to.

The survey is part of the quality system

“The final year survey, which has been conducted since 2019, is an important part of the University’s quality system and gives us valuable insights into the students’ experiences. We work continuously to improve the survey and ensure that the results are taken care of on programme level to develop the education”, says Administrative Officer Johannes Sandén, who has also worked on the survey.

Johannes Sandén emphasises why it is important that students participate in the survey:

“By responding to the final year survey, students get the opportunity to influence their education, which is important both for those who are in the programme now and for future students. It is a way of providing feedback that can contribute to a better study environment, teacher support and study results. When our students enter working life, they should feel that their education is of high quality and that it has given them a strong foundation to stand on. Participating in the survey is a concrete way to make your voice heard and contribute to quality development at Halmstad University.”

The most recent final year survey was conducted in the spring of 2025 and was aimed at students in programmes leading to a degree at first- or second-cycle level. A total of 532 students responded, which gives a response rate of 41 percent, a slight increase compared to the previous year.
