NU16 – Data mining with industrial applications

NU16 – Data mining with industrial applications is a online course for professionals. The course is a sub-project within the larger, multidisciplinary project at Halmstad University called InPACT – Netbased education for international positioning.

InPACT is a four-year project with the aim of positioning Halmstad University internationally with online education. The project is generated in close collaboration with companies involved in research and with competence development needs. InPACT is divided into a master project that will run over four years and five overlapping sub-projects that will run for three years each. Each sub-project consists of one course development and implementation of that course.

The first course, Data mining with industrial applications (7,5 hp), is designed to both contribute to the development of Smart Cities (focus area: intelligent vehicles) and Health Innovation (focus area: healthcare technology) and research projects with e.g. Volvo and HEM. The course is aimed for students among industrial partners as competence development for company employees. The course includes solutions for bringing user-generated data, which is integrated into the course.
