Apply for disability study support
To be granted disability study support, you must first submit an application. You must apply well in advance so that there is time to prepare the support before the semester starts. You can apply directly after receiving your admission decision!
How to apply
You apply for disability study support in the Nais system, Sweden's national administration and information system for disability study support. With your application you should attach a certificate from an expert, such as a doctor or speech therapist, certifying that you have a disability. In Nais, you fill in an online form to apply.
You can choose between three methods for logging in to Nais:
- Log in with your student account at Halmstad University
- Log in with user credentials from antagning.se
- Log in with your EduID
When the application is received, an administrator for students with disabilities will contact you to book a personal meeting.

Decision on support
A decision on disability study support contains two parts: support granted and recommended support.
- Support granted covers the measures that the administrator for students with disabilities grants directly.
- Recommended support is a proposal for how teachers and examiners can adapt the teaching situation and the form of examination for you on different courses. In these cases, it is always an examiner on the course who decides on the adjustments that can be made based on the intended learning outcomes on the course.
If your need of support changes during the study period, you are responsible for notifying the administrator for students with disabilities. This applies when you feel the need for additional support or if the support can be discontinued.
