Support in your studies? Find the right study support for you

At the University, there are many different types of study support. In this text Katarina Nordin, Counsellor at the Student Healthcare Centre, and Zoe Bejmo, Student Assistant at Student to student, will tell you more about the support they can give you.

Hi Katarina, you work at one of the University’s many support functions. What is your role and what do you do at work?

“I work as a Counsellor at the Student Healthcare Centre together with my counsellor colleague Helen and Health Counsellors Amanda, Morgan and Sara. My work largely consists of having conversations with students, who feel that they are having a troubled and difficult time in some way.”

What else does the Student Healthcare Centre do for all students?

“The Student Healthcare Centre consists of us counsellors and health counsellors. We offer all students support in motivation, planning and study technique. We also arrange Boardgames and Food, where everyone is welcome to come and borrow and play board games at Café Mangold.”

At the Student Healthcare Centre you will meet Katarina Nordin, Counsellor, Amanda Moberg, Health Counsellor, Helen Kniberg, Counsellor, Morgan Ljungkvist, Health Counsellor and Sara Hagehall, Health Counsellor.

“You can also meet us at lectures on study techniques, in workshops on group work and presentation techniques and on campus in various other contexts. Keep an eye on the student calendar and feel free to follow us on Instagram, where we post what’s going on.”

What is the best thing about working with students?

“I appreciate each unique meeting and also being able to be there as a support for students to find their way in dealing with difficulties and feeling better. I also really like group activities, the strength of the community and being able to share experiences, and help each other and yourself.

Study support

Hi Zoe, you also work at a support function at the University. What can you help other students with?

“As a student assistant at Student to student, I am often the first support when the studies feel a bit messy. I help other students find scientific articles, understand references and use the library’s resources in a smart way. It can also be about study techniques, practical issues such as printouts and logins, or just sorting out what you really need help with.”
