Guest speaker event - AI strategy, innovation approach, and AI implementation

Students of the programme Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) at The School of Information Technology (ITE) would like to welcome you to this guest speaker event.
The event has been organised as part of a course called Implementation of AI for Business. We hope that many more students at Halmstad University benefit from the event.

Associate Lecturer Abtin Rezaeenia at the School of Business, Innovation, and Sustainability has invited Professor Lars Carlsson to share his knowledge and experience with students and colleagues.

The event will take place on 6 December 2023 at S1002 and will start at 10 am and will end by 5pm.

About the guest speaker Lars Carlsson

From 2018 to 2020, Lars held a position as Head of AI within Stena Line and led all advanced initiatives within the Stena conglomerate. Before that, Lars spent almost 15 years in AstraZeneca and participated in strategic, scientific and management initiatives. Most of his efforts were spent developing and applying scientifically sound methods, such as conformal prediction, within the drug discovery phases.
As of August 2022, Lars is holding a professorship in computer science at Jonkoping University. He is also engaged in two newly started companies, Algorithma (a consultancy firm in AI and advanced analytics), and RTHS which is developing a product to measure various properties related to blood pulse waves (e.g., blood pressure). Part of the product is heavily reliant on machine-learning methods.
Lars has a PhD in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and Scientific Computing, and he is a visiting professor in computer science at Royal Holloway, University of London.
