Have your say on campus development
Both the University and Halmstad Municipality want to develop the area where the University is located into a more vibrant and attractive campus with social areas and student apartments. An important step on the way is the proposal for a new detailed development plan for the area that the municipality has created. Until 31 January, you can see the proposal in an exhibition at the University Library and contribute with your own views.
At the University Library, there is currently the municipality's proposal for a detailed development plan. There you can read more about, and see pictures of, what the campus area is intended to look like in the future. Plans include the construction of around 500 student apartments and the development of new green areas.
A few years ago, the University developed its own campus plan with a vision for how it wants to develop the campus, called Campus Plan 2030.
“The detailed development plan that Halmstad Municipality has created for the campus area will give the University the conditions to be able to develop according to the Campus Plan 2030. Now we have the opportunity to look at the municipality’s detailed development plan and submit comments. We want to create a vibrant, safe and sustainable campus area, where student housing in an attractive location is an important part. Feel free to take the opportunity to have your say”, urges Rikard Ahlgren, the University’s Property Manager.
Via Halmstad Municipality’s website, you can submit your views on the proposal until 31 January, as well as your own thoughts and suggestions on how the area should be developed.
Halmstad University, together with HFAB and a private property owner, wants to develop the campus area into an even more vibrant campus.
