Register as international student at course or programme

On this page you can find instructions on how to start your registration process as a student starting a course or programme at Halmstad University. In order to start your studies, you need to create a student account and register for your courses.

Registration needed to start your studies

Late registration

If you missed to register during the registration period (18–26 August), the Student Affairs Department will need to manually help you with the registration. Please fill out the activation code form to apply for late registration.

Registration for courses starting after 1 September

If you are taking a course that starts in the middle of the semester, registration is open Monday to Sunday the week before the start of the course.

Apply for activation code

Applying for an activation code is the first step of the registration process. After submitting the form below, the Student Affairs Department will process the information. You will receive an activation code and instructions on how to proceed by email, in a few days.

Please note, if you have a Swedish personal identity number, you should not fill out the activation code form, instead go directly to:

I accept the terms and conditions for registration as follows: By accepting the terms and conditions of the registration you accept your place at the programme/course you are admitted to and you become an enrolled student at Halmstad University. If you are a tuition-fee paying student, registering means that you are no longer entitled to apply for a refund of your tuition fee.

Late arrival

You must contact the Student Affairs Department if you for some reason are not able to arrive in time for the start of the semester. If you do not contact us via the email address below your admission may be cancelled.

Not able to start your studies?

If you are admitted to a programme or course but cannot start your studies, you can apply for deferment of studies. Tuition fee-paying students can apply for deferment of studies after making the first payment.
