On this page you can find instructions and other important information that applies to students starting a course at Halmstad University.
Registration needed
In order to confirm your place and start your studies at Halmstad University, you need to apply for an activation code, create a student account and register for your courses. Please follow below instructions to successfully register as a student at Halmstad University.

Create a student account and register as a student
You need to create a student account to be able to register for your upcoming studies and access the University's digital tools. Please follow the instructions below. You can register for your course one week before the course starts.
1. Apply for activation code
Do you have a Swedish personal identity number? Please go directly to step 2.
If you do not have a Swedish personal number you will have to apply for an activation code via below application form. This is the first step of the registration process. After submitting the form, the Student Affairs Department will process the information and you will later receive an activation code by email. This might take a few days.
2. Create student account and register for your programme/course
You need to create a student account to be able to register for your upcoming studies and access the University's digital tools.

Go to the student account registration page and choose the option applicable to you. Follow the instructions on the page.

After finishing the instructions you will be redirected to a page showing your student account login details, which you will use for all digital tools at Halmstad University.
Register for your course in Student Ladok
When you have obtained your student account, you can register for your first course in Student Ladok to get access to the course material for the specific course. Login by entering your student account details.

It is important that your contact details are correct so that you don't miss out on important information from the University and from your teachers. You can edit your contact details on "My pages" in Student Ladok.

After registration: Prepare for the study start
Course material and schedule
When you have registered for your education, you will get access to your schedule, course material and information about course literature in the learning platform called Blackboard. The information will be available one week before the course starts.
Please note that it might take a few hours after your registration is finalised until you can log in to Blackboard, the digital tool that you will use during your education.
Schedule for online studies
If you are studying an online course, you will find your schedule in the learning platform Blackboard after your have registered on your course and your teacher has added the information.

If you are studying on campus, you can find your schedule on "My page" here on the student web after registration.

Course syllabus
Every course has a course syllabus, describing the various parts of the course and what you need to learn in order to get your credits. At the end of the course literature document you can find the course literature list, stating which articles and books you are expected to use during the course.
The course syllabi for your courses are available on "My page". You can access "My page" via the link below or via the menu in the upper right corner (for example on this page). Login with your student account login details.
If you want to access your course syllabus including a literature list prior to registration, you can search for it via below link. Remember to choose the correct semester in the search form.
Log ins and passwords
After creating your student account, you can find information about, for example, how to log in to you student email, Blackboard and Student Ladok on the page Student account. You can also find instructions on how to connect to the University wi-fi.
Study start
The schedule will show when you have your first lecture in your course. An introduction is made during your first lecture.
Access card / Library card
In order to get access to the campus facilitites, you need an access card. This card can also be used as a library card at the University Library. You create the card in the online HH card platform.
