All you need to know about exam registration
We are approaching the first exam period this semester and want to remind you of a few important things when it comes to registering for your examinations. Tina, Camilla and Tomas, who work with exam-related tasks at the Student Affairs Department, share their answers to some of the most common questions they get from students.
We have collected all information about exams on a designated page the student web. We recommend that you read the information on this page prior to your upcoming exams.
1. How do I register for my exam?
Tomas: "You register for your exams via Student Ladok. To be able to register for an exam you must be registered for the correlated course. In Student Ladok and in your schedule you can also see more detailed information on how your exam will be conducted and if the exam takes place on campus or online."
2. When can I register for my exams?
Tina: "The registration period for each exam is dependent on the week in which the exam is taking place. You can find a list of all exam periods on the exam page here on the student web. It is important that you register before deadline, to ensure a place on your exam. If you miss the deadline we cannot guarantee that you can take the exam, and you might be referred to a re-exam opportunity. Remember that you cannot show up on an exam without a valid registration."
3. Do I need to register for all exams?
Camilla: "The main rule is that you only need to register for written exams that are taking place physically on campus, but due to the current restrictions there might be some other examinations that need registration as well. It is stated clearly in your schedule if you need to register for the exam."
4. What is important to bring to the exam?
Tina: "The most important things to bring is your personal ID and the personal code you receive in Student Ladok when registering for the exam."
Camilla: "Then of course you will need a pencil and an eraser and any other approved aids (such as a calculator) for the exam. If you are uncertain what aids are permitted in the exam room, please ask your teacher prior to the exam."
Camilla: "Please also note that personal notes, tablets, mobile phones, smart watches and other technical devices are not allowed at your desk during the exam. Suspected cheating will be reported immediately and can lead to severe consequences."
5. When can I expect the exam to be corrected and how do I see my results?
Tomas: "The exam should be corrected within 15 working days. You can see the results in Student Ladok when it is ready. A few days after you have received the result, you can contact Service Center to have your written exam scanned and emailed to you, if you want to."
