Projects
CAISR Health involves several sub projects, all within the field of AI and healthcare.
Active research projects
Cardiovascular Health
Project manager: Jens Lundström, Senior Lecturer
The main purpose of this project is to increase the understanding of the care process and disease development as well as the treatment of patients with diagnosed atherosclerosis (arteriosclerosis) and related cardiovascular events.

Digital anamnes and triage in primary care
Project manager: Elin Siira, Postdoctoral Position
Project manager: Jens Nygren, Professor
The project is carried out in collaboration with companies and primary care facilities in the south of Sweden. It is designed around a set of empirical cases of implementation and/or adoption of digital anamnesis and triage in primary care. Through these cases, we explore the implementation and adoption of digital anamnesis and triage and how patient safety is affected by the introduction of these types of tools.

PadAI – AI for better mental health in young people
Project manager: Lena Petersson, Senior Lecturer
Research shows that young people and young adults with mental illness do not have access to or do not receive satisfactory and effective support measures when they seek help for their problems. To promote young adults' mental health and prevent ill-health, a joint research project has been initiated by Region Halland and Halmstad University.

ID Wound Care
Project manager: Ingrid Larsson, Senior Lecturer
The implementation of innovations in healthcare is challenging, especially when innovations are applied to healthcare services for patients living with long-term and complex conditions that require care and support from various front line health services (hospital, primary care and home-care).
Planned research projects
I-FLY – Interoperability: standardisation on the fly
Project manager: Amira Soliman, Senior Lecturer
The overall goal of the project is to demonstrate how interoperability can be achieved in information-driven care using standardised formats, incorporating reliability and validity (regulatory compliance) in the process, and incorporating the needs and potential issues of stakeholders and end-users in the process.
Completed research projects
HaRP – Heart failure Readmission Prediction
Project manager: Lina Lundgren, Senior Lecturer
Unscheduled readmissions create a burden for healthcare with increased cost and a negative impact on quality of care. Being able to predict the risk of unscheduled readmission following a discharge would be very helpful to initiate relevant interventions to optimise care and improve clinical and health outcomes.
