As a researcher at Halmstad University I lead research on how information driven care and digital technologies can be responsibly and effectively integrated into health and welfare systems. My work is driven by the ambition to ensure that healthcare innovations not only demonstrate technical potential, but also deliver tangible societal value, improved patient outcomes, and sustainable healthcare practices.
Since 2018, I have also served as focus area leader for Health Innovation at Halmstad University. In this role, I provide strategic direction for the university’s interdisciplinary research profile in health, supporting collaboration across faculties and building partnerships with healthcare providers, industry, and public actors. The focus area is designed to connect academic excellence with societal challenges, and has become nationally recognized for co-produced research that bridges science, innovation, and policy.
As research leader of the Information Driven Care program and co-leader of CAISR Health, I direct multidisciplinary collaborations with healthcare providers, municipalities, industry partners, and patient organizations. Through these initiatives, we develop and implement solutions such as AI-supported decision support, precision prevention, and patient trajectory analytics, while advancing frameworks for responsible implementation of AI in healthcare.
A hallmark of my research is stakeholder co-production: actively involving patients, professionals, managers, and policymakers in shaping knowledge, methods, and technologies. This approach ensures that innovations are context-sensitive, ethically grounded, and trusted by users.
Over the years, I have supervised numerous doctoral candidates and had coordinating roles in national and international research consortia. My academic leadership extends into strategic partnerships with Swedish regions, AI Sweden, and industry partners to align cutting-edge research with health system needs.
