Network Support and Security
The course provides an introduction to network security and cybersecurity, focusing on fundamental principles, key concepts, relevant subfields, and terminology. The course covers various aspects of network security, including commonly used protocols and standards, as well as established cryptographic algorithms. It also addresses mechanisms for traffic control within and between networks through firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Methods for protecting local networks from security threats are discussed, along with ensuring secure administrative access through AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) and the implementation of secure tunnels. The course also includes practical applications of VPN technologies, firewall configuration, and endpoint security solutions.
