Jessica Arvidsson

Jessica Arvidsson did her PhD studies in Health and Lifestyle, and her research focused on working life after upper secondary school for people who attended upper secondary school for students with intellectual disabilities. In the film, Jessica Arvidsson shares her experiences as a doctoral student and her best advice for other doctoral students.

Jessica Arvidsson currently works as Deputy Head of Education in Båstad Municipality. She describes her time as a doctoral student as an opportunity to spend several years delving into a specific and interesting subject. Her time was divided between her own research, doctoral courses, teaching and conferences.

In the film, Jessica Arvidsson talks about what it was like to be a doctoral student, how she became more confident in teaching and what she would like to pass on to today’s doctoral students.

“Don’t forget to do other things too. That’s when things start to fall into place,” says Jessica Arvidsson.
