Outstanding final-year students from the School of Information Technology awarded
On Thursday 5 June, many of the final-year students at the School of Information Technology celebrated completing their studies. During the final week, several of them received awards adding up to a total of SEK 225,000 for outstanding contributions within information technology.
“It feels like a good testament to what we have learned during these years.”
Linn Samuelsson, final-year student
Gabriella Jarnö and Linn Samuelsson from the Enterprise Systems Programme (now Digital Business Development) received an award from PS Provider for their work on challenges with AI from a socio-technological user perspective.
“It feels like a good testament to what we have learned during these years”, says Linn Samuelsson.

Gabriella Jarnö and Linn Samuelsson received the PS Provider award for their work on challenges with AI from a socio-technological user perspective.
In their thesis, Gabriella Jarnö and Linn Samuelsson examined which challenges users face when artificial intelligence has been integrated into an organisation’s information system. After that, they optimised a framework of their own, which focuses on the user.
“Earlier research shows that there hasn’t been a lot of focus on the user perspective when implementing new technologies, and it was nice to be able to build upon this and make something of it”, says Gabriella Jarnö.

“We want to thank all the big companies who have participated in the study, and also our supervisors and other teachers who have offered both their time and knowledge”, say Oliver Sauer and Axel Haglund, who received the Forterro award for their thesis on generative AI within sustainability reporting.
Using generative AI in sustainability reporting
The Forterro award was awarded to Axel Haglund and Oliver Sauer from the Enterprise Systems Programme for their work on generative AI behind the scenes.
“Of course, we think that we had a current and interesting theme, but winning wasn’t something we were counting on”, says Oliver Sauer.
Axel Haglund and Oliver Sauer did a qualitive study on how generative AI is used and perceived within sustainability reporting.
“Sustainability reporting is an important and growing area, and we wanted to see how what we have learned in our courses is used in real life”, says Axel Haglund.

Alva Lundälv, Hannah Esbjörnsson, Julia Andersson and Rama Hayatleh won first prize for the best design studio project.
Creating more sustainable consumption patterns
First place in the category “Best design studio project within the Digital Design and Innovation Programme” was awarded to Alva Lundälv, Hannah Esbjörnsson, Julia Andersson and Rama Hayatleh for their project that aims to create more sustainable consumption patterns.
“We didn’t think we’d win, but we’re really happy”, says Alva Lundälv, the rest agreeing with her.
The aim of the project has been to strive for a better, sustainable future.
“We want consumers to go from impulsively buying fast fashion and instead choose second hand or other more sustainable products as a better option”, says Julia Andersson.
