Refractor

Refractor is a three-year collaborative project that aims to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the electronics sector through knowledge, networks and resources. The project runs from 2025 to 2028 and is led by Halmstad University and HH Innovation, with support from the European Regional Fund and Region Halland.

Through the project, Electronics Centre in Halmstad (ECH) is being further developed and strengthened, along with collaboration between companies, the University and other actors in the field of electronics.

Why Refractor is needed

Companies developing electronics need to meet technical and regulatory requirements, for example in relation to EMC, CE marking and product certification. For small and medium-sized companies, it can be difficult to have all the necessary expertise and resources withing their own organisation.

Refractor aims to strengthen regional support for companies by developing expertise, resources and collaboration in the field of electronics.

What the project will develop

Refractor is developing, among other things:

  • Expertise and forms of support in areas such as CE marking, regulatory requirements and EMC
  • Courses, seminars and other skills development activities
  • Networks and collaboration between companies, researchers, specialists and other actors
  • Practical activities where companies can use ECH’s test environments as part of the activity

Take part in Refractor

Refractor is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 250 employees in Halland County and Västra Götaland County that develop or sell products incorporating electronics.

Companies can take part in courses, seminars, networking events and other activities withing the project. Refractor-funded courses are a central part of that the project offers companies.
