My postdoc project, “Regarding Reading: The Poiesis of Literary Studies,” explores the kind of responses literary texts asks of us.
My first monograph, Metaphor, Animals, Modernism: Specters of Literarity (Palgrave Macmillan, 2026) draws on Jacques Derrida and Paul Ricœur to examine the importance of metaphor in the posthumanities and literary animal studies. Through readings of novels by Virginia Woolf, H.D., and D.H. Lawrence, I show that in order to address the problem of figurative readings of the other-than-human, it is crucial to understand the spectrality of metaphor.
I received my PhD from Stockholm University in 2025, with the dissertation “Creaturely Metaphors in D.H. Lawrence, H.D., and Virginia Woolf,” which the Swedish Academy awarded as laudable research in Literary Studies.
Research interests: Literary Theory, Literature and Philosophy, Deconstruction, Poetics, Tropology, Formalism, Modernism.
