Carl Bennet Postdoctoral Fellow in Literary Studies.
My research is primarily informed by deconstruction and modernism, focusing on questions about the specificities and values of literature and literary studies. As a literary theorist, I am convinced that literature and poetics constitute privileged sites for thinking about philosophical problems. In my current research project, I work on the concept of form.
My first monograph, Metaphor, Animals, Modernism: Specters of Literarity (Palgrave, 2026) draws on Jacques Derrida and Paul Ricœur to recuperate metaphor for the posthumanities. Through readings of novels by Virginia Woolf, H.D., and D.H. Lawrence, I demonstrate the spectrality as well as literarity of metaphor.
I received my PhD from Stockholm University, with the dissertation “Creaturely Metaphors in D.H. Lawrence, H.D., and Virginia Woolf” (2025), which the Swedish Academy awarded as laudable research in Literary Studies.
Research interests: Literary Theory, Literature and Philosophy, Deconstruction, Poetics, Tropology, Formalism, Modernism.
