About Me

I am a Senior Lecturer at Halmstad University specialising in sport and esport psychology research. My work focuses on understanding the psychological, health, and coaching dimensions of esports participation. I study how factors such as stress, self-regulation, health behaviours, and coaching environments influence performance and well-being in both competitive and developmental contexts.

Research and Teaching Interests

My primary academic interests include:

- Psychological processes in esports performance and development

- Mental health, stress, and coping strategies within performance contexts

- Applied sport psychology and coaching practices

I am especially interested in bridging empirical research with practical applications; supporting athletes, coaches, and organisations to enhance both performance and psychological health.

Current Projects & Recognition

I lead Halmstad University’s participation in The Good Game Project (GG), an interdisciplinary research initiative focused on promoting mental health in esports. The project investigates how wellbeing, stress regulation, and health-supporting behaviours influence performance and quality of life among esports athletes. Our work integrates psychological science and health promotion within esports contexts to contribute to the development of evidence-based strategies for players, coaches, and organisations.

Professional Background

Prior to my current role, I founded and coordinated one of the first university-endorsed esports programs in Australia, where I developed strategic partnerships, curriculum content, and performance support initiatives. I have also held teaching and research positions in sport psychology and exercise science.
