Post-graduate research schools for teacher educators
The University is part of several doctoral schools across a range of subject areas. A doctoral school is a form of doctoral-level education characterised by a clear organisational structure for doctoral studies. Doctoral schools are often characterised by interdisciplinarity, networking and enhanced collaboration, involving cooperation between subjects and higher education institutions in courses and seminars. Doctoral schools may also be run in close collaboration with industry, the public sector or other organisations.
The School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences has doctoral students within three doctoral schools. Research projects in all doctoral schools must be linked to compulsory school, upper secondary school or teacher education. The doctoral schools offer opportunities to develop interesting research within the field of teacher education and schooling. As a doctoral student, you are admitted to a doctoral programme at another higher education institution, while at the same time being affiliated with teacher education at Halmstad University and becoming part of a research environment with a focus on digital learning and subject didactics.
