Research Methods - in-Depth Knowledge in Qualitative and Quantitative Design and Methodology
The course aims to provide the doctoral student with in-depth knowledge of scientific methods and analysis. The course discusses method choice and analysis based in studies in the field of health and lifestyle. The doctoral student is given the opportunity to independently immerse themselves in relevant studies within their own research area but also through seminars on different quantitative and qualitative methods. The course includes studies of statistical methods, ethnographic research design and methods in qualitative text analyses. Scientific methods are also discussed based on feminist theory and intersectional perspectives. During the course, the doctoral student gets the opportunity to analyse and reflect on their own research project's limitations and possibilities based on methodological aspects.

A second-cycle degree relevant to the third-cycle area of health and lifestyle as well as the course Qualitative and Quantitative Design and Methods in Health and Lifestyle 7.5 credits at Halmstad University or the equivalent.
