Måns Svensson new Vice-Chancellor at Jönköping University

It was a unanimous decision when the Board of Jönköping University decided to appoint Måns Svensson as the next Vice-Chancellor at its meeting on 22 November.

“I have had a great time at Halmstad University, and it is with mixed feelings that I am now moving on to Jönköping University. I have had the privilege of leading the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences during three exiting years, with a lot of development and great commitment from all employees. I will carry the experiences from here with me in my new role as Vice-Chancellor and academic leader of Jönköping University”, says Måns Svensson.

Måns Svensson is a Professor of Sociology of Law and came from Lund University to become Dean of School at Halmstad University in 2020. Vice-Chancellor Susanna Öhman extended his assignment this summer, but will now begin the process of recruiting his successor.

“I want to congratulate both Måns Svensson on the new assignment as Vice-Chancellor, and Jönköping University on the recruitment! Måns has been a highly regarded Dean of School and has driven important development in both education and research at the school. I wish him all the best in his new assignment”, says Susanna Öhman.
